Ian is a documentary filmmaker, based out of Tampa, Florida,  whose work explores identity, ambition, resilience, and the often unseen realities of people chasing purpose. Before stepping behind the camera, he spent years working as a chef in demanding professional kitchens, where he witnessed firsthand the intensity, sacrifice, and personal costs that can exist behind passion-driven industries. That experience shaped his interest in telling raw, intimate stories about overlooked communities and individuals navigating reinvention, hardship, and transformation. Drawing from his culinary background, Christopher brings a calm presence, strong observational instincts, and a deep empathy for subjects living under pressure.

Ian received his Bachelor’s Degree in Filmmaking from Los Angeles Film School, where he developed a love of documentary filmmaking. He is also a member of The Art of Documentary, as well as an associate member of the Cinema Audio Society.

His most first documentary short, Let It Kill You, was selected to screen at  numerous film festivals. It also garnered laurels for Best Documentary nomination at Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival in 2025. His follow-up short, Fair Share, is being shopped around for distribution as of now.

Currently, Ian has two short documentaries in pre-production: It’s Still Killing Me, which further explores the mental health crisis of the culinary industry, as well as an untitled project exploring the importance of foraging for local foodways in Florida.

Ian also offers services as a location sound mixer in narrative and documentary spaces.
